This is very rich on the palate, it makes an extremely sweet entrance with notes of dried apricot and ripe Muscat grapes well structured and full bodied with a finish defined by strong woody notes Grappa Libarna was first produced in the Gambarotta Distillery established in Novi Ligure in 1832 by Santo Gambarotta The distillery’s spirits soon won a large number of official awards including the prize at the National Exhibition held in Turin in 1898 The ultra fresh pomace is steam distilled in copper pot stillsusing the discontinuous method The alcohol vapoursproduced by heating the pomace are then concentrated,cooled and liquefied, producing the distillate The distillateis then aged for at least 12 months in French oak barriques.
