The Swedish artisan distillery, Hernö, has elevated this concept by crafting the Juniper Cask Gin, a pioneering creation aged in barrels fashioned from juniper wood. This gin exudes a fragrant pine aroma, accompanied by delightful orange notes and marvellous juniper undertones. On the palate, it is thick and oozing, commencing with a sweetness that transitions into fresh pine, before reverting to a lively citrus-infused sweetness. The aftertaste is characterised by a brilliantly long finish, rich in green juniper. Overall, this gin exemplifies the allure of aged gin perfectly.
Ki No Bi Sei Kyoto Dry Gin Navy Strength
KI NO Bi SEI is their Navy Strength offering and is made with the same intricate production as their original Ki No Bi. Made using 11 botanicals distilled in six distinct flavour categories making for a another great gin to their collection. The final blend has been recalibrated by their distilling team to bring out the best of each botanical at the higher proof. The name SEI means 'power' has been chosen as this expression has evolved from their Japanese interpretation of the traditional Navy Strength style. Made with juniper, orris, hinoki, yuzu, lemon, green tea, ginger, red shiso leaves, bamboo leaves, sansho pepper and kinome.
