Ichiro's Malt Chichibu Red Wine Cask 2023 release is a Japanese single malt whisky distilled at the Chichibu distillery in Saitama. The whisky has been matured in a combination of different red wine casks to give incredible depth and complexity of the spirit. It has notes of candied orange, blueberry and licorice with a hint of honey and salted caramel. On the palate there is rich cinnamon and cloves with a touch of menthol before finishing with rich milk chocolate.
Ichiro's Malt Double Distilleries 2021 (Chichibu x Komagatake)
This limited edition blended malt whisky has been created by Ichiro Akuto from two Japanese single malt distilleries, Chichibu and Mars - representing a paradigm shift in the industry, as cask sharing between distilleries is historically rare in Japan. The result is a whisky that opens with notes of ripe pineapple and mango with a touch of green banana and lemon. The palate showcases notes of rich vanilla custard with salted caramel and cinnamon before finishing with burnt orange and black pepper.
