Iona Sauvignon Blanc 2025

Iona Sauvignon Blanc is a beautifully precise and aromatic white wine from the cool, high-altitude vineyards of Elgin in South Africa's Western Cape. With its signature combination of pure citrus, tropical fruit, and distinctive herbal and floral undertones, this is Sauvignon Blanc of real intensity, minerality, and elegance. Meet the Producer Iona is one of South Africa's most celebrated cool-climate estates, situated in the Elgin Valley at altitude, where the cool maritime influence of the nearby ocean creates ideal conditions for producing wines of exceptional freshness, precision, and aromatic complexity. A meticulous approach in both vineyard and cellar ensures that every release reflects the unique character of this extraordinary terroir. Vineyard and Production Each soil type and aspect of the Sauvignon Blanc vineyards is carefully matched with different clones to capture the full range of flavours the variety can express. Blocks are vinified separately using reductive practices and selected yeasts to preserve freshness and aromatic intensity. A small addition of Semillon enhances mid-palate weight and complexity, while lees stirring adds the unmistakable texture that is a hallmark of the Iona style. Tasting Notes Pure white grapefruit, intense tropical fruit, ripe gooseberry, and fleshy kiwi fruit overlay distinctive herbal and floral undertones on the nose. The palate is keenly balanced, with cut green apple and lime marmalade followed by great minerality and a long, focused finish. Grape Variety Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon Perfect Pairings A natural partner for fresh seafood, grilled fish, oysters, and goat's cheese. Also excellent with herb-crusted chicken, asparagus dishes, and light summer salads. Sa Raja Tarra Noa Vermentino di Gallura 2024

A bright and textural Vermentino from Saraja’s new estate in Gallura, this wine expresses the variety’s Sardinian heartland with freshness, minerality, and vibrant citrus character. Meet the producer Saraja, a recent project in northern Sardinia’s Gallura region, is rapidly gaining acclaim for producing expressive wines that balance modern techniques with respect for the local terroir. Production The Vermentino grapes grow on Guyot-trellised vines at around 350m altitude with south-easterly exposure, in soils of loam and sand with clay and quartz rocks. Hand-harvested in early September, the grapes are destemmed and softly pressed at low temperatures. Fermentation occurs in stainless steel over 15 days, followed by 6 months on lees and a further 2 months in bottle before release. Tasting notes Bright citrus aromas with delicate floral hints and lightly savoury notes. The palate shows fresh acidity, lemon, and stone fruit flavours, finishing mineral, fine, and tangy. Food match Serve with seafood or simple spaghetti dressed with olive oil, garlic, and lemon zest. Grape Vermentino 100%
