Jam Jar Sweet Shiraz 2024

A fresh, fruity, semi-sweet Shiraz, sourced from vineyards around Paarl with a Rhône-like climate ideal for Shiraz cultivation. Bursting with aromas of ripe blueberries, blackberries, and raspberries, with subtle dark chocolate undertones. Balanced sweetness and lively acidity make it very approachable and easy to enjoy slightly chilled. Vineyard & Terroir Grapes grown mainly in Paarl, benefiting from warm winter periods followed by cool growing conditions, producing elegant wines with softer tannins and early drinkability. Winemaking Grapes were harvested early in the morning, destemmed, and cold macerated for two days. Fermentation occurred in stainless steel tanks with a combination of indigenous and selected yeasts over 12–14 days, followed by 5 days on skins. Malolactic fermentation took place in tank, with 20% of the wine aged on French oak for six months. A naturally sweet component is retained to add complexity and roundness. Tasting Notes Ripe blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, dark chocolate, semi-sweet, balanced acidity, soft and approachable. Grape Variety Shiraz (Syrah) Food Pairing Enjoy with chocolate desserts, berry tarts, or lightly spiced dishes.

Kaiken Clasico Malbec 2023

Kaiken Clásico Malbec is a vibrant, fruit-forward expression of Mendoza's signature grape — crafted by a winery with a compelling story. Named after the wild geese of Patagonia that cross the Andes, Kaiken was founded by the Chilean Montes team who made the same journey to establish vineyards in Argentina. The result is a Malbec of real character: ripe, expressive, and beautifully approachable. Why You'll Love It Sourced from the Agrelo zone in Mendoza at 950 metres above sea level, where Andean soils of silt, clay, sand, and stone push the vines to produce grapes of exceptional concentration and freshness. Kaiken combines fruit from its own vineyards (70%) with carefully selected partner sites (30%), focusing on balance, ripeness, and expressive varietal character. Partially aged in French oak for added depth — without losing the vibrant fruit that makes this wine so easy to love. Vineyard & Production Grapes are hand-picked into 300kg batches and meticulously sorted at the winery. Fermentation takes place in small tanks with approximately 20 days of maceration to extract colour, aroma, and structure. Around 40% of the wine is then aged for six months in French oak barrels before blending, ensuring a harmonious balance of fresh fruit and integrated oak. Tasting Notes Deep purple in colour. The nose reveals pronounced plum and blackberry aromas, complemented by black pepper and clove. The palate is fresh and expressive, with soft, ripe tannins and a balanced, approachable finish that keeps you coming back for more. Perfect Pairings A versatile red for the table. Excellent with grilled meats, slow-roasted lamb, hearty pasta dishes, and roasted vegetables. Also a great match for mature cheddar or a smoky barbecue spread. The Blend Malbec 100% — Agrelo, Mendoza, Argentina. 950m altitude. Partial French oak ageing. 75cl bottle.
