Jordan Cabernet Sauvignon 2017
Jordan Cabernet Sauvignon is a refined red wine from Sonoma County, California, inspired by the elegance and structure of First Growth Bordeaux. It is celebrated for its balance of ripe fruit, silky tannins, and a lingering, sophisticated finish. Crafted from the estate's 1,200-acre Alexander Valley property, this wine represents the pinnacle of Californian winemaking with Old World sensibility. Why You'll Love It This is one of California's most iconic Cabernet Sauvignons, combining Napa-quality fruit with Bordeaux-inspired elegance. Founded in 1972, Jordan Vineyard & Winery has spent over 50 years perfecting their craft, creating wines of remarkable consistency and refinement. With 18 months in French oak and meticulous block-by-block vinification, this wine offers exceptional complexity and age-worthiness. A benchmark California Cabernet that belongs in every serious wine collection. Meet the Producer Founded in 1972 by Tom and Sally Jordan, Jordan Vineyard & Winery produces world-class Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon on 1,200 acres in Alexander Valley. The estate combines Californian terroir with Old World winemaking principles to create wines of consistency, precision, and elegance. Production The vineyard is divided into over 20 blocks, each harvested, optically sorted, and fermented separately in temperature-controlled steel tanks. After initial fermentation, the wine is transferred into hand-selected French oak barrels (new and used) for 18 months to integrate flavours, refine tannins, and enhance complexity. Tasting Notes Deep, rich colour with aromas of black cherry, raspberry, and clove, complemented by subtle hints of vanilla. On the palate, it is velvety and concentrated, offering black cherry, blackberry, and a touch of nutmeg, culminating in a long, elegant finish. Perfect Pairings Pairs beautifully with herb-crusted lamb, roasted beef, rich game dishes, grilled steaks, or aged hard cheeses. An excellent wine for special occasions and fine dining. G
