Klein Constantia Sauvignon Blanc 2023
Klein Constantia Sauvignon Blanc is a benchmark example of this variety from South Africa's celebrated Constantia Valley. Benefiting from the region's cool climate, maritime influence, and granitic soils, this wine showcases freshness, purity, and expressive fruit character with crisp acidity and a refreshing, lingering finish. Why You'll Love It This is Constantia Valley Sauvignon Blanc at its finest—crisp, vibrant, and beautifully expressive with exceptional purity. Founded in 1685, Klein Constantia is one of South Africa's most historic and prestigious wine estates, set between the slopes of Table Mountain and the False Bay coast. Internationally acclaimed for its wines, particularly the iconic sweet wine Vin de Constance, Klein Constantia's Sauvignon Blanc has also built a reputation for quality and precision. The cool climate, maritime influence, and decomposed granite soils create ideal conditions for world-class Sauvignon Blanc. Vineyard & Production Sourced from carefully selected Sauvignon Blanc vines grown on decomposed granite soils in the Constantia Valley, benefiting from cool climate and maritime influence. Grapes were harvested by hand in the cool of the morning, gently pressed, and fermented at controlled temperatures in stainless steel to preserve aromatics. A portion was aged on fine lees for added texture and complexity. Tasting Notes Bright and pale in colour with aromas of citrus, passionfruit, and elderflower, layered with subtle saline and mineral undertones. The palate is crisp and vibrant with lively acidity carrying flavours of lime zest, green apple, and tropical fruit to a refreshing, lingering finish. Perfect Pairings Perfect as an aperitif or paired with oysters, sushi, grilled fish, goat cheese, or fresh summer salads. Also excellent with shellfish, Asian cuisine, or light seafood dishes. Best served well chilled at 8–10°C. Grape Variety 100% Sauvignon Blanc
Wildeberg Terroirs Chenin Blanc 2023
Wildeberg Terroirs Chenin Blanc is a premium South African white wine crafted from 45+ year-old bush vines grown on Table Mountain granite outcrops in Paarl. This wine is an expression of the most exciting vineyard blocks across the Coastal Region, capturing the unique character and terroir of these historic vines. Hand-harvested and naturally fermented at the Wildeberg estate, it is aged for 12 months in a combination of new and older French oak barrels to create a textural, site-driven wine. Tasting Notes On the nose, this Chenin Blanc is broad, savoury, and complex, with aromas of ripe stonefruit, citrus, straw, saffron, and baked earth. The palate is generous and textured, revealing flavours of apricot, green plum, and grapefruit. The richness of fruit is balanced by tangy freshness and a taut mineral seam, leading to a long, focused finish. Food Pairing This versatile white wine pairs beautifully with grilled fish and white meats, and is particularly well-suited to asparagus or vegetable-based dishes. Winemaking The 2022 vintage comes entirely from Eenzaamheid, a vineyard planted in 1977. The old, dry-farmed bush vines are hand-harvested and fermented naturally at the Wildeberg estate. Minimal intervention is employed to preserve the site-specific character, and the wine is aged for 12 months in French oak barrels to add subtle complexity while maintaining freshness and structure.
