Knightor Merlot Cabernet Sauvignon 2020

Now obviously, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon do not ripen in this climate so this wine is made from grapes grown undercover. But, it makes for an interesting table chat and tasting. It has also been aged in a mixture of French oak barrels for over a year. On the nose there is aromas of blackcurrants spice and green pepper. The palate really shows this green pepper off with it being well integrated with stewed fruits and spice.

Schola Sarmenti Critera Primitivo 2023

Schola Sarmenti Critera is a vibrant and expressive red wine from the sun-drenched vineyards of Salento in Puglia , southern Italy . Crafted entirely from hand-harvested Primitivo , it showcases the youthful energy, richness and Mediterranean soul of this precious grape at its most expressive and generous. Why You'll Love It This is Salento Primitivo done with real care and precision. The 15-year-old vines, trained in the traditional spalliera system at low yields, produce fruit of genuine concentration and character. Fermented at controlled temperatures to preserve freshness and aromatic intensity, Critera delivers the warmth and generosity you expect from Puglia while retaining a balance and elegance that keeps you coming back for more. Vineyard and Production The vines are trained in the spalliera system at a density of 4,200 plants per hectare, yielding around 2,200 grams of grapes per plant. Grapes are hand-picked and carefully placed into airy crates to preserve freshness before fermentation at controlled temperatures in stainless steel tanks, maintaining the wine's vibrant fruit character and natural aromatic purity. Tasting Notes The bouquet is sincere and expressive, with an intriguing mix of ripe fruit and exotic nuances characteristic of the Primitivo grape. On the palate, fleshy and generous, bursting with ripe red fruit and soft tannins, balanced by a pleasant freshness. The finish is long, smooth and gently warming, reflecting the variety's rich Mediterranean soul. Perfect Pairings A natural partner for the dinner table. Perfect with grilled meats, hearty pasta dishes and aged cheeses. Also excellent alongside slow-braised lamb, beef ragu or a classic Puglian charcuterie board. Grape Variety Primitivo
