La Collection Le Pur Sans Grenache Organic 2023

Every year, a limited edition wines that reflects the unique conditions for the vintage are created. Together, these wines form La Collection, a celebration of the unpredictability of nature and the creative spirit of the makers at St Jacques d’Albas. Situated in the Minervois, a seductive region in the west of France’s Languedoc, tucked in between the medieval city of Carcassonne, the Black Mountains and the Canal du Midi, the family-owned Château St Jacques d’Albas benefits from a wealth of natural advantages to produce impressive wines. Over 60 hectares of forest and garrigue, teaming with wildlife, and an 11th century chapel, protect the 26 hectares of organic vines. From the outset, their philosophy has been to limit yields and take an organic approach to managing the soil and the vines.

Luigi Bosca Malbec 2024

Luigi Bosca Malbec is crafted from grapes grown in the renowned Mendoza regions of Luján de Cuyo and Valle de Uco. The vineyards are planted at altitudes between 900 and 1,100 metres, with vines averaging 35 years in age, producing fruit with excellent concentration and varietal character. Variety 100% Malbec Vineyards and Terroir The high-altitude vineyards contribute to ideal diurnal temperature variation, helping the grapes retain natural acidity while developing intense flavours. Winemaking Grapes are hand-harvested, with careful bunch selection and destemming. Fermentation occurs in stainless steel vats at a controlled 28°C using selected yeasts. Post-fermentation, the wine is aged for 12 months in a combination of French and American oak barrels, allowing the oak influence to integrate seamlessly with the fruit. The wine is then bottled following gentle filtration to preserve its purity and expression. Tasting Notes The wine shows a bright purple-red colour with pronounced aromas of red fruits, complemented by floral and subtle spicy notes. On the palate, it is expressive and full-bodied, with sweet, supple tannins and excellent fruit concentration. Oak maturation adds structure, depth, and a long, clean finish. Cellaring Potential 5 years Serving Suggestions Serve between 16°C and 18°C. Ideal with grilled red meats, such as skirt steak with mashed potatoes or rib-eye with rosemary-roasted potatoes.
