La Dame D'Angludet Margaux 2021

La Dame d'Angludet is the second wine of Château Angludet, one of Margaux's most respected family estates, crafted from the same gravelly, well-drained soils that define the appellation's signature elegance. Made with the same dedication as the Grand Vin, this is Margaux at an approachable price — without compromise on finesse or character. Why You'll Love It This is classic Margaux at its most accessible — poised, refined, and genuinely cellar-worthy. Rather than a simple declassification, La Dame d'Angludet is crafted with the same rigour and terroir as the estate's flagship wine, offering the silky texture and aromatic complexity that makes Margaux one of Bordeaux's most celebrated appellations. Exceptional quality for the price. Vineyard & Production Sourced from Château Angludet's gravelly, sandy soils in the Margaux appellation — ideal for Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Petit Verdot. The fruit is handpicked and carefully selected before fermentation and maturation in French oak, striking a balance between fruit purity and gentle structure. The result is a wine of real Bordeaux character: balanced, graceful, and built to evolve. Tasting Notes Elegant and expressive, the 2021 opens with aromas of cassis, dark cherry, liquorice, and subtle spice. On the palate it is supple and refined, with ripe dark berry fruit, polished tannins, and a long, poised finish that hints at further development with age. Perfect Pairings A natural companion to fine cuts of beef, roast lamb, game dishes such as venison or wild boar, and well-flavoured hard cheeses. Also excellent alongside a classic Sunday roast or a slow-braised short rib. The Blend Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot — Margaux, Bordeaux, France

Paxton Cracker Barrels Shiraz Cabernet Sauvignon Organic 2016

Cracker Barrels is made up of a 52% / 48% blend of four barrels. The colour is excellent, and the wine brings it all to the table: black and purple fruits, dark chocolate, peppermint, warm spices, French oak and ripe tannins. It does all this within the overall context of a juicy, medium-bodied wine that has excellent balance. Its life span will very likely exceed your patience. The 2016 vintage was a very strong year in the McLaren Vale. After 6 months without rain, it had 40mm in the first week of February. This slowed down the baumes and allowed the acidity to catch up, therefore giving the fruit fantastic flavour equilibrium. Berry numbers were high due to an even veraison, which lead to the highest quality crops and tonnages this millennium. This is the final blend each year. When tasting through the barrels, we always find one that stands out. Over the past few years Paxton have been keeping these barrels aside - whether it be a Cabernet Sauvignon, a Jones Block Shiraz or even an EJ barrel. In 2016 the blend worked as a Shiraz Cabernet Sauvignon and we ended up with four Cracker Barrels! Recently awarded a staggering 96points at the James Halliday Wine Competition in May 2019.
