Les Courtelles, Picpoul de Pinet 2025
Les Courtelles Picpoul is produced in Pinet, a small village located in the largest area producing white wines in the Languedoc region of Southern France. The vineyard is established on a chalky plateau facing the Mediterranean sea. Together with cool morning and evening breezes from the sea, the Piquepoul variety finds ideal conditions to ripen and develop its great refreshing character. 100% Piquepoul, which is a very traditional, local grape variety, grown in the region for more than 400 years. The exceptional situation of the vineyards and the peculiarity of the grape variety make the Picpoul de Pinet appellation unique in the world. Served chilled, you will appreciate its grapefruit and floral aromas with amazing hints of pear as an accompaniment of any salads and sea-food dishes.
Ornezon Picpoul de Pinet 2024
Vignerons de Florensac is the cooperative at the heart of one of France's oldest Mediterranean vineyard sites, where cooling sea breezes from the nearby coast temper the summer heat and preserve the freshness and balance that make Picpoul de Pinet so distinctive. Sustainability is central to everything they do, from eco-friendly vineyard practices to solar-powered refrigeration in the cellar, all under the guidance of oenologist Roques Stephane. Why You'll Love It Picpoul de Pinet is one of the great underrated whites of southern France, and Ornezon is a benchmark example. Bracing, zesty, and mouth-wateringly fresh, it delivers everything you want from the variety: vibrant citrus, bright acidity, and a clean, refreshing finish that makes it one of the most food-friendly whites around. Night harvesting to protect the delicate aromatics, lees ageing for added richness, and solar-powered production make this a wine you can feel good about drinking, too. Vineyard & Production The vineyards are planted on elevated sites with clay and limestone soils in the Florensac terroir, farmed sustainably without chemical intervention. To protect the grapes' delicate aromatics, harvesting takes place at night when temperatures are cooler, preventing oxidation and preserving fruit integrity. After gentle pneumatic pressing, fermentation takes place in stainless steel at low temperatures using cultured yeasts. The wine is then aged on fine lees with regular stirring to enhance richness and roundness. Natural pest management and solar-powered refrigeration complete a genuinely green production process. Tasting Notes Pale yellow with green hues. Aromas of grapefruit and citrus leap from the glass, fresh and vibrant, leading to a palate of bracing citrus and ripe stone fruit. Bright acidity ensures a clean, mouth-watering finish that is as refreshing as it is versatile. Perfect Pairings A classic partner for oysters, moules mariniere, grilled sea bass, ceviche, prawns, and lighter seafoo
