Louis Jadot Meursault (Magnum) 2017
Louis Jadot Meursault is a classic white Burgundy from the heart of the Côte de Beaune, crafted from Chardonnay grapes grown on the chalky soils that define this celebrated appellation. With its rich texture, elegant minerality and refined complexity, this is Meursault at its finest—a wine that beautifully expresses the terroir and winemaking expertise of one of Burgundy's most respected houses. Why You'll Love It This is Meursault from one of Burgundy's legendary producers—rich, elegant, and beautifully balanced. Maison Louis Jadot has been crafting exceptional Burgundy wines since 1859, and their Meursault showcases the house's commitment to quality and terroir expression. The result is a wine that combines classic Burgundian finesse with the distinctive character of Meursault's chalky soils, offering exceptional depth and ageing potential. Vineyard & Production Sourced from village vineyards spread over gentle slopes between 230 and 360 metres above sea level in Meursault, the centre of the Côte des Blancs. The eastern orientation provides ideal sunlight, while chalky soils with white marl are perfectly suited to Chardonnay. Grapes are hand-harvested and gently pressed, then fermented in oak barrels produced by the CADUS cooperage, with one-third new oak. Ageing lasts 15 months on fine lees before bottling, building texture and complexity. Tasting Notes This elegant Meursault opens with aromas of ripe orchard fruit, citrus and subtle oak, layered with notes of hazelnut, butter and white flowers. The palate is rich and textured, showing stone fruit and citrus with mineral undertones and a touch of vanilla. The finish is long, refined and beautifully balanced, with vibrant acidity and lasting complexity. Perfect Pairings A versatile food wine, perfect with seafood, sushi, salmon tartar, escargots, chicken yakitori, vegetable tart, goat cheese, fish & chips, or creamy pasta. Also excellent with refined dining and special occasions. The Blend Chardonnay from Meursaul
Puligny-Montrachet Premier Cru 'Les Chalumeaux', Domaine de Montille 2023
The 2023 vintage reflects a year of moderate warmth with consistent sunshine, leading to steady, well-paced ripening. Although temperatures weren’t extreme, the shift to warmer nights and milder days contributed to extended growing periods. This translated into wines that are strikingly fresh, with lower alcohol levels, vivid acidity, and vibrant character—brighter and more approachable compared to recent years. Both red and white wines achieved impressive yields, the largest ever recorded for the estate, with terroir expression and balance shining through. Whites carry the de Montille hallmark freshness and minerality, further underscored by the decision to reduce the percentage of new oak due to the larger volumes produced. The domaine features as one of the Top 10 Côte de Beaune Red Wine, and White Wine Producers in Tim Atkin's Burgundy 2023 Special Report.
