<em>Full stoppered bottle 1,331 g. RS 45 g/l, TA 7.45 g/l.</em> Pale glowing orange. Powerful wood-aged nose, medium-sweet palate that ends so ethereally crisp and dry. Strong whiff of gunpowder/cordite. Orange peel and, despite the alcohol, it tastes dangerously feather-light. Great for sipping on a cold night by itself or with all manner of foods. RAY-MONDE VINEYARD PINOT NOIR Port Phillip Joshua Cooper 2022
Josh Cooper says ’22 is the best wine he’s made off this site to date. It’s more savoury and, in a way, structured compared with the Doug’s Vineyard pinot. This comes out with dark cherries, rhubarb, kirsch and licorice root, plus warm earth and bitumen aromas. Complex, rich but not heavy, fuller bodied, with ample tannins all plush and textural, quite distinctive in how they feel across the palate; then fine acidity corrals everything into one seamless offering.
