Marcelino Rioja Crianza 2021
Marcelino Rioja Crianza is a bright, modern Rioja from Bodegas Campoameno, crafted from Tempranillo grown at altitude in carefully managed vineyards between 300 and 650 metres. Smooth, fruit-forward and gently spiced with a classic touch of oak, this is Rioja Crianza at its most approachable and enjoyable. Why You'll Love It Bodegas Campoameno works with vineyards at altitude across Rioja, where the combination of elevation, temperature variation and native yeasts produces wines of real purity and local character. Marcelino is their everyday expression, a Crianza that delivers genuine Rioja quality without the premium price tag. Fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel with eight days maceration, this is a wine that lets the fruit do the talking, with oak playing a supporting role rather than dominating the glass. Vineyard & Production Sourced from vineyards between 300 and 650 metres altitude in Rioja. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks with eight days maceration and native yeasts to retain purity and local character. Aged for one year in oak, adding warmth, vanilla and gentle spice while preserving the wine's vibrant fruit character. Tasting Notes Ruby red with light purple highlights. Generous and fruit-forward on the nose, with clear Tempranillo character, blackberry and cherry mingling with toasted, vanilla-laden aromas from a year in oak. Full and soft on the palate, with fresh, ripe black fruits and a subtle vanilla sweetness. Balanced, approachable and nicely rounded, with a warm, structured finish. Perfect Pairings Perfect with cheeses and cured meats, roasted lamb, beef stews and everyday comfort dishes. Also excellent with chorizo, grilled vegetables and hearty pasta. Grape Variety Tempranillo 100%
Montsable Pinot Noir Pays D'Oc 2023
The wines of Terres Fidèles are crafted to express the spirit of this extraordinary corner of south-western France – old-vine Grenache, Carignan, Malbec, Cinsault, Viognier, and more. Each is a small-batch wine of authenticity and character. Founder Fergal Tynan MW reflects: “Over the last two decades, we’ve been creating wines in the wilds of south-western France – embarking on adventures; exploring, discovering and rediscovering remarkable places and vineyard sites. From the foothills and valleys beneath the iconic Pyrenees, out through the gorges to the coastal areas of the Mediterranean, we’ve journeyed with our friends – exceptional growers who excel at their craft and have an inherent respect for the land that they and theirs are a part of. It is these people and places that inspire our winemaking.” Winemaking The grapes ripen slowly in the cooler vineyards, preserving natural acidity and finesse. Vinification follows Burgundian traditions, with gentle cap punch-downs to achieve delicate extraction. Fermentation at low temperature (24°C) helps protect Pinot’s subtle aromatics. The wine matures on fine lees in stainless steel, with around 10% aged for 3 months in French oak to add spice and complexity. Tasting Note Bright cherry-red in colour, this Pinot Noir reveals aromas of dark cherry and blackberry, lifted by hints of red summer fruits such as raspberry. The palate is rich yet rounded, balancing freshness with depth, while subtle oak influence lends structure, spice, and a long, elegant finish. Viticulture Sourced from cooler sites in the Haute Vallée d’Aude, where altitude, a fresh climate, and limestone-rich soils combine to yield outstanding Pinot Noir. These conditions create wines marked by elegance, purity of fruit, and a distinctive sense of place. Food Matching Serve very slightly chilled – it has the depth to pair beautifully with rich white meats such as game birds, pigeon, or duck, as well as venison.
