Marilyn Lasserre Les Argelieres Grande Cuvee Cabernet Franc 2023

Les Argelières Cabernet Franc is a modern, expressive red from the Languedoc region of Southern France. It showcases the elegance, subtlety, and signature profile of Cabernet Franc grown on cooler hillside sites, offering ripe black fruits, hints of capsicum, herbs, and a touch of chocolate. Meet the producer Marilyn Lasserre, a pioneering figure in Languedoc winemaking since 2008, focuses on crafting wines that respect terroir and varietal character while combining traditional and modern techniques. Production Grapes are destemmed and crushed, then macerated for approximately ten weeks to extract fruit character while developing supple tannins. Daily tastings during vinification ensure balance, structure, and a smooth, medium-bodied style. Tasting notes Dark purple-red in the glass, with aromas of blackcurrant and green pepper typical of Cabernet Franc. The palate is soft, fruity, and smooth, finishing with gentle spice and hints of cherry and chocolate. Food match Pairs perfectly with simple, hearty dishes such as homemade lasagne, grilled vegetables, or roasted chicken. Grape Cabernet Franc 100% Awards & Recognition The Observer, June 2025: Highlighted as a “perfect fresh red to enjoy in the sun,” noted for its balance of spice, wild herbs, and brambly fruit.

Montsable Pinot Noir Pays D'Oc 2023

The wines of Terres Fidèles are crafted to express the spirit of this extraordinary corner of south-western France – old-vine Grenache, Carignan, Malbec, Cinsault, Viognier, and more. Each is a small-batch wine of authenticity and character. Founder Fergal Tynan MW reflects: “Over the last two decades, we’ve been creating wines in the wilds of south-western France – embarking on adventures; exploring, discovering and rediscovering remarkable places and vineyard sites. From the foothills and valleys beneath the iconic Pyrenees, out through the gorges to the coastal areas of the Mediterranean, we’ve journeyed with our friends – exceptional growers who excel at their craft and have an inherent respect for the land that they and theirs are a part of. It is these people and places that inspire our winemaking.” Winemaking The grapes ripen slowly in the cooler vineyards, preserving natural acidity and finesse. Vinification follows Burgundian traditions, with gentle cap punch-downs to achieve delicate extraction. Fermentation at low temperature (24°C) helps protect Pinot’s subtle aromatics. The wine matures on fine lees in stainless steel, with around 10% aged for 3 months in French oak to add spice and complexity. Tasting Note Bright cherry-red in colour, this Pinot Noir reveals aromas of dark cherry and blackberry, lifted by hints of red summer fruits such as raspberry. The palate is rich yet rounded, balancing freshness with depth, while subtle oak influence lends structure, spice, and a long, elegant finish. Viticulture Sourced from cooler sites in the Haute Vallée d’Aude, where altitude, a fresh climate, and limestone-rich soils combine to yield outstanding Pinot Noir. These conditions create wines marked by elegance, purity of fruit, and a distinctive sense of place. Food Matching Serve very slightly chilled – it has the depth to pair beautifully with rich white meats such as game birds, pigeon, or duck, as well as venison.
