Menade Nosso (Natural Organic Verdejo) 2023
Bodegas Menade is one of Rueda's most exciting natural wine producers, crafting expressive, terroir-driven whites from old Verdejo vines grown on stony clay and limestone soils. Menade Nosso is their flagship natural wine — organic, vegan-friendly, and made with minimal intervention to let the grape and the land speak for themselves. Why You'll Love It This is natural Verdejo at its most characterful — floral, creamy, and alive with texture. Unlike conventional Rueda whites that prioritise clean, neutral fruit, Nosso embraces wild yeast fermentation and extended lees ageing to deliver a wine of real personality and depth. No sulphur is added during vinification, making this a genuinely natural wine that still manages to be beautifully balanced and utterly drinkable. Organic, vegetarian, and vegan — nature in a bottle. Vineyard & Production Verdejo grapes are hand-harvested from selected parcels on stony clay and limestone soils in Rueda. Fermentation takes place using wild yeasts in stainless steel at 18–24°C, with malolactic fermentation occurring spontaneously. The wine is then gently racked and spends around three months on lees before bottling. No sulphur is added at any stage of the vinification process. The estate is certified organic. Tasting Notes Gentle floral and fresh grape aromas open on the nose, with inviting creamy vanilla notes. The palate has a lovely, rounded texture packed with distinctive leesy, bready, and floral character — complex, satisfying, and refreshingly different from conventional whites. Perfect Pairings A wonderfully versatile food wine, perfect with grilled white fish, seafood tapas, goat's cheese, roasted vegetables, mushroom risotto, soft rind cheeses, or a simple charcuterie board. Also excellent as an aperitif for those who appreciate natural wine. The Blend Verdejo 100%
Sa Raja Kintari Vermentino di Gallura superiore 2024
Sa Raja Kintari is a Vermentino di Gallura Superiore from the higher-altitude, older, and lower-yielding vineyards of Saraja estate in northern Sardinia's Gallura region. Offering remarkable breadth, complexity, and freshness, this wine showcases the expressive potential of Vermentino at its finest. Fresh and vibrant on the nose with subtle citrus, honey, and lightly herbal notes, the palate is focused and textural, showing ripe apricot flavours balanced by mineral complexity and a taut, saline finish. Why You'll Love It This is Vermentino di Gallura Superiore from Saraja, a rapidly emerging estate in northern Sardinia that is gaining attention as one of the island's most exciting new producers, combining modern winemaking with respect for traditional practices. The Superiore designation requires stricter standards than standard Vermentino di Gallura DOCG, and this wine delivers on that promise. The Guyot-trellised vines grow south-facing at 400–500m altitude on soils of sand, loam, clay, and quartz — conditions that create naturally low yields and exceptional fruit concentration. Hand-harvested in mid-September, the grapes are gently destemmed and soft-pressed at low temperatures before fermentation in stainless steel over 15 days. The wine then spends 6–8 months on fine lees, developing texture and complexity, followed by a further 2 months in bottle before release.
