MEURSAULT Luraule Domaine Rémi Jobard 2023
From a .45 ha parcel of 15+ year old vines that abuts Goutte d’Or. A more floral-suffused nose speaks mostly of white-fleshed fruit and citrus zest. The beautifully textured and caressing middle weight flavors are refined to the point of being almost delicate yet they don’t lack for punch that continues onto the youthfully austere, balanced and solidly long finish where a touch of bitter lemon slowly emerges. Worth checking out.
MOREY SAINT DENIS 1er Cru Aux Chezeaux Domaine Lignier-Michelot 2016
There are plenty of sauvage and earth elements on the softly spiced aromas of plum and dark currant. The big-bodied and ultra-intense flavors possess terrific energy while terminating in a beautifully persistent finish that is shaped by dense but relatively fine tannins on the impressively complex finish. This built-to-age effort will need at least a few years of cellaring first.
