MOREY SAINT DENIS Rue de Vergy Domaine Lignier-Michelot 2021
The 2021 Morey-Saint-Denis en la Rue de Vergy, including around two-thirds whole bunches, has a well-defined bouquet. The stems are fairly noticeable at present, though that will be soaked up by the fruit with time. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy, fine tannins. The 2021 is harmonious and quite crunchy; blackberry commingles with tar and subtle tobacco notes towards its satisfying finish. Good potential, but patience required.
VOSNE ROMANÉE Domaine J. Confuron Cotetidot 2021
(from Murailles du Clos, also known as Porte Feuilles, and Les Jacquines). A notably spicier mix features notes of both red and blue pinot fruit along with a floral top note. The sleek, delicious and energetic medium weight flavors possess better concentration and a lovely texture while displaying solid length on the moderately austere and markedly firm finale. This robust though not rustic effort will clearly need at least some patience.
