Nanny Goat Super Nanny Pinot Noir 2021

Super Nanny Pinot Noir, is a limited production Pinot Noir showcasing the unique terroir of Central Otago, capturing the pure expression of the vineyard in every bottle. Meet the producer Nanny Goat Vineyard takes its name from the wild goats that roam the mountainous Central Otago terrain. The estate focuses on small, hand-selected parcels to highlight the distinct character of each site, crafting wines of precision, depth, and elegance. Production The wine is made from carefully selected parcels identified for their colour, flavour, and structural properties. Hand-harvested fruit is gently destemmed into small open-top fermenters, retaining a large proportion of whole berries alongside 20% whole bunches. Natural fermentation with extended post-ferment maceration lasts 30–32 days on skins. Pressed to 225L French oak barrels (25% new), it matures for 14 months. Bottled unfined and unfiltered to reflect the vineyard’s purity. CELLARING POTENTIAL: 10+ years. Tasting notes Complex and seductive on the nose with layers of raspberry, plum, bramble, sweet baking spice, and an ethereal floral lift. The palate is rich and flowing, revealing dark berry fruits, dried herbs, and subtle spice. Fine velvety tannins support a bright, persistent finish, making this a deeply expressive Pinot Noir. Food match Pairs beautifully with chargrilled meats, pork ribs, and Jerk chicken. Rod Easthope Martinborough Pinot Noir 2018

2018 was a warm ripe vintage and hence we see dark cherry notes allied to spice and dried herb characters. The wine has a positive tannin structure lending a nice frame for the fruit flesh to shine. The palate great weight, and this carries through to a long finish.
