Pioneering sustainable whisky brand, Nc’nean, is proud to introduce ‘Quiet Rebels Lorna’ - the second release in its autumn seasonal series. Whiskies which are curated by and celebrate individuals from its dynamic team. This much-anticipated release is named after Nc’nean’s first-ever team member, Lorna Davidson. In 2015, Lorna decided to venture from Perthshire to the beautiful and wild Morvern peninsula, before the distillery was even built, and hasn’t looked back since. Diverse in her skillset, Lorna kicked off her career with Nc’nean keeping a team of builders fed during the construction of the distillery. Once the build was complete, there was no question about what Lorna would tackle next … making the whisky itself. Learning from Gordon, Nc’nean’s Distillery Manager, Lorna did just that, taking to distilling like a duck to water, and this is what she has been doing ever since. Lorna is also the most green-fingered of Nc’nean’s distillers: she has turned the stillhouse into a greenhouse, growing tomatoes, courgettes and luffa plants amongst many other things. Lorna likes her whisky on the sweeter side, notes of banana bread, grapefruits and peach icecream come together in this delicious bottling. A lovely combination of American whiskey casks and ex Pinau des Charentes.

Wolfburn Lightly Peated Cask Strength 7 Year Old is a bold and richly rewarding limited release from Scotland's northernmost mainland distillery, crafted from lightly peated spirit matured in a hand-selected combination of Oloroso sherry butts and ex-bourbon quarter casks. Bottled at natural cask strength of 58.2% ABV without chill filtration, it is sweet, aromatic, and sumptuous in character, with the gentle thread of peat smoke adding an extra dimension of complexity. The pairing of Oloroso sherry butts and ex-bourbon quarter casks has done an astonishing job of producing a smooth and rounded whisky in just seven years, with the smaller quarter cask format accelerating maturation and adding an extra layer of oak integration. Bottled at cask strength without chill filtration, every nuance of the sherry richness, bourbon sweetness, and gentle peat smoke is preserved exactly as intended. Sweet, complex, and deeply satisfying, this is a bottle that punches well above its age. Distillery & Maturation Wolfburn Distillery was established in 2013 in Thurso, Caithness, on the site of the original Wolfburn Distillery that operated in the 1820s, making it Scotland's northernmost mainland distillery. This 2022 release is crafted from lightly peated spirit matured in a hand-selected combination of Oloroso sherry butts and ex-bourbon quarter casks, bottled at natural cask strength of 58.2% ABV without chill filtration. Tasting Notes The nose is sweet and aromatic, with Oloroso sherry richness, soft bourbon vanilla, and a gentle waft of peat smoke. On the palate, it is smooth and rounded for its cask strength, with layers of dark fruit, toffee, and warming spice from the sherry casks, underpinned by a soft, lingering peat smoke from the lightly peated spirit. The finish is long and satisfying, with the sherry sweetness and gentle smoke fading gracefully. Best enjoyed neat
