Nikka Coffey Grain Whisky
Nikka Coffey Grain is mostly made from corn that has been distilled in two of the Coffey Stills in the Miyagikyo distillery. It is a complex, sweet and mellow. Coffey Grain is a great introduction for someone to grain whisky and is part of a core production, no longer will you have to search for the Single Cask Single Grain bottling that are usually produced in limited numbers. The aromas are juicy, pleasant and contain notes of ripe pear, cherry and exotic fruits. The flavour profile is a great balance and made up of ripe fruit, banana and caramel (very reminiscent of a good sipping rum). The flavour develops on the palate with notes of liquorice and exotic spices like star anise amongst the light fruity flavours which all comes to a light bitter finish.
Tomatin Cu Bocan Creation #3 Single Malt
Tomatin Cu Bocan Creation #3 is a lightly peated and exotically spiced Highland single malt from Tomatin Distillery, finished in exceptional Cabernet Sauvignon wine casks to produce one of the most intriguing and evocative expressions in the Cu Bocan Creation series. Bottled at 46% ABV without chill filtration, it conjures the aromas and flavours of a Moroccan souk, with light smoke, exotic spice, and vibrant fruit all woven together in a whisky of genuine originality and complexity. Why You'll Love It The Cu Bocan Creation series is Tomatin's most adventurous range, and Creation #3 is a standout expression. The Cabernet Sauvignon cask finishing adds a layer of red fruit, balsamic depth, and exotic spice that transforms the distillery's signature lightly peated spirit into something truly distinctive. If you enjoy whisky that takes you somewhere unexpected, this is a bottle that delivers an experience unlike anything else in the Highland canon. Bold, aromatic, and endlessly fascinating. Distillery & Maturation Tomatin Distillery was founded in 1897 in the village of Tomatin in the Scottish Highlands, sitting at over 1,000 feet above sea level in the Monadhliath Mountains. Cu Bocan is Tomatin's lightly peated expression, and Creation #3 takes that spirit and finishes it in Cabernet Sauvignon wine casks, adding a vivid layer of red fruit, exotic spice, and wine-cask complexity to the smoky Highland base. Bottled at 46% ABV without chill filtration. Tasting Notes The nose is aromatic and exotic, with light smoke, strawberries in balsamic vinegar, Moroccan spice, and a lift of citrus and tropical fruit. On the palate, it is rich and layered, with the lightly peated spirit weaving through flavours of red fruit, exotic spice, and a gentle wine-cask sweetness. The finish is long and warming, with lingering smoke, spice, and a touch of dark fruit. Best enjoyed neat or with a small drop of still water. Perfect Serve Enjoy neat to fully appreciate the interplay of light peat
