NUITS SAINT GEORGES 1er Cru Les Vignes Rondes Domaine J. Confuron Cotetidot 2015
This Premier Cru tends to produce what Yves Confuron calls “fine Nuits”). Planted in 1923, this 0.75-hectare parcel has yielded a rich, spicy, yet refined Pinot in 2015, with subtle, fineboned tannins, some sappy whole bunch spice, well-integrated oak and understated power.
PULIGNY MONTRACHET La Rue Aux Vaches Domaine Thomas-Collardot 2021
More subtle, though hardly invisible, wood frames cool, pretty and ripe aromas of citrus zest, white orchard fruit and a plenitude of floral influences. The generously proportioned but solidly punchy medium weight flavors coat the palate with sappy dry extract that also buffers the moderately firm acid spine shaping the balanced and sneaky long finish. This lovely effort could use better depth so a few years of cellaring should prove beneficial.
