Odd Lot Pinot Noir
Scheid Vineyards Odd Lot Pinot Noir is a vibrant and expressive California red wine, crafted from a blend of Pinot Noir, Tempranillo, Malbec, Petite Syrah, Zinfandel, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and other varieties. Lush aromas of black cherry and plum lead to bright red cherry and raspberry flavours, with subtle hints of mocha and toasty oak. The medium-bodied palate is balanced with silky tannins and a long, lingering finish. Why You'll Love It This is a unique and approachable California red wine that delivers exceptional value. The Odd Lot concept allows the winemaker to blend the best parcels from different varieties, creating a wine with complexity and character well beyond its price point. Produced by Scheid Vineyards with 100% wind-powered, sustainably farmed practices, it is a wine you can feel good about. Aged for 10 months in French oak with vegan-friendly winemaking, it is perfect for everyday enjoyment. Meet the Producer Scheid Vineyards focuses on sustainable and environmentally conscious viticulture, producing wines that reflect the character of their Californian terroir. Their estate is 100% wind powered and 100% sustainably farmed, ensuring quality and ecological responsibility in every bottle. Production Fruit is carefully sorted, destemmed and crushed before fermentation in stainless steel tanks at warm temperatures. Gentle punch downs are performed several times daily to extract colour and flavour. Once fermentation is complete, the wine is pressed and allowed to settle before racking for oak ageing. The wine is aged for 10 months in French oak with 25% new barrels, imparting delicate notes of vanilla and toast while enhancing structure and complexity. Tasting Notes Bright ruby in colour with aromas of black cherry and plum, and red cherry and raspberry on the palate. Soft mocha and toasted oak notes complement the fruit, while silky tannins and a persistent red fruit finish provide elegance and balance. Perfect Pairings Pairs beautifully with BBQ
Soldiers Block Shiraz 2024
Soft, supple, and irresistibly moreish, this Victorian Shiraz captures the essence of Australia’s ancient vineyards while offering an approachable, everyday indulgence. Sourced from historic soils in Victoria, the wine balances finesse, purity, and structure with the classic eucalypt character and a subtly saline finish typical of the region. Carefully harvested at night and crushed within an hour, the grapes are fermented in temperature-controlled tanks to preserve the bright fruit and avoid harsh tannins. A touch of barrel ageing and a sneaky 5% Malbec addition provide a hint of mulberry fruit and flowery perfume, making this Shiraz dangerously drinkable by the glass. Meet the producer Quintessentially Australian, this range offers consistent quality and hugely appealing, commercial wine styles that have earned a devoted following. Production Fermented at 22–25ºC, the Shiraz is gently pumped over to extract vibrant colour and aromatics. 20% of the final blend is barrel-aged, while 5% Malbec is added at the end to enhance the fruit profile and give the wine a soft, silky elegance. Tasting notes Bright and aromatic on the nose, with a subtle hint of naughty bacon fat. The palate is juicy, expressive, and refined, with soft tannins and a mulberry twist from the Malbec. This is the brightest and most dangerously drinkable vintage yet. Food match Pairs beautifully with Moroccan lamb tagine, roast vegetables, and mature hard cheeses. Grape Shiraz 100%
