Old Ballantruan The Peated Malt
Old Ballantruan is the peated malt from Tomintoul Glenlivet. It takes its name from the Ballatruan spring in the hills near the distillery. Using heavily peated malted barley, it is bottled at 50% vol with out chill-filtering to retain its natural oils and peaty flavour. Its starts with heathery floral notes then with smoke. The palate is gentle, but developes peaty smokiness and malty flavours. The finish is long and lingering with sweet barley and ash.
