Papia Pinot Grigio Rose is a fresh, light, and appealingly fruity Italian rose from the Oltrepo Pavese in Lombardia, produced by Adria Vini, a joint venture between Boutinot and Araldica Castelvero. Lower in alcohol, lightly off-dry, and vegan friendly, this is a rose built for easy, uncomplicated enjoyment. The name Papia is the Latin root for Pavia, the city at the heart of this underrated northern Italian wine region. Vineyard and Production Pinot Grigio grapes are sourced from key partners in the Oltrepo Pavese region of Pavia and fermented to around 11% ABV. This is blended with 15% of a Chiaretto component, a Barbera and Pinot Nero blend with fermentation deliberately stopped at 9% ABV and 20g/l sugar. The result is a wine of lower overall ABV with around 5g/l residual sugar, giving a little more weight and roundness to the mid-palate. Winemaker: Claudio Manera. Screwcap closure.
