Papia Pinot Grigio Rose IGT 2025
Papia Pinot Grigio Rose is a fresh, light, and appealingly fruity Italian rose from the Oltrepo Pavese in Lombardia, produced by Adria Vini, a joint venture between Boutinot and Araldica Castelvero. Lower in alcohol, lightly off-dry, and vegan friendly, this is a rose built for easy, uncomplicated enjoyment. The name Papia is the Latin root for Pavia, the city at the heart of this underrated northern Italian wine region. Why You'll Love It Established in 2003, Adria Vini combines British market insight with deep Italian winemaking expertise to produce wines that are genuinely crowd-pleasing without sacrificing character. Papia is their approachable, lower-alcohol rose, packed with fresh red berry fruit and just enough residual sweetness to give the mid-palate real weight and roundness. The kind of bottle you open without overthinking and finish without noticing. Vineyard and Production Pinot Grigio grapes are sourced from key partners in the Oltrepo Pavese region of Pavia and fermented to around 11% ABV. This is blended with 15% of a Chiaretto component, a Barbera and Pinot Nero blend with fermentation deliberately stopped at 9% ABV and 20g/l sugar. The result is a wine of lower overall ABV with around 5g/l residual sugar, giving a little more weight and roundness to the mid-palate. Winemaker: Claudio Manera. Screwcap closure. Contains sulphites. Vegan and vegetarian. Tasting Notes Fresh and fruity on the nose with inviting red berry aromas. The palate shows notes of strawberry and redcurrant with a touch of natural sweetness, finishing bright, clean, and lively. Light, refreshing, and very easy to enjoy. Perfect Pairings Perfect on its own as a chilled aperitif, and a natural partner for summer sharing plates, antipasti, light salads, and soft cheeses. Also excellent with grilled prawns and light pasta dishes. The Blend Pinot Grigio 85%, Barbera 11%, Pinot Nero 4%.
Sierra Grande Cabernet Sauvignon 2021
This is an expressive Cabernet crammed full of varietal character and finesse. Bursting with red- and blackcurrant fruits, this is a really soft and varietally pure expression of Cabernet with gentle tannins. Cool herby flavours mingle with red fruits and a nice touch of acidity. This is a great wine pairing with a herby roast leg of lamb, char-grilled steak or stuffed baked red peppers.
