Pernand-Vergelesses Premier Cru 'Sous Frétille', Maison Pierre Meurgey 2023
"Ripe lemon and tropical pineapple aromas are complemented by a slight toastiness. Full and layered on the palate, it has impressive length and freshness." Our note Pierre Meurgey is a rising star in Burgundy, blending tradition with modern techniques to craft precise and terroir-driven wines. His focus is on showcasing the nuanced characteristics of each appellation, from the Mâconnais to the Côte de Beaune. The 2023 vintage was particularly noteworthy, beginning with uncertainty due to a sudden heatwave in early September. Thanks to early harvesting, Pierre achieved balanced ripeness and avoided overripeness, producing wines with finesse, vibrant fruit, and excellent ageing potential. Both reds and whites are approachable young yet structured.
Pierro Chardonnay 2022
Burgundian in style, with fine creamy oak and a restrained, elegant minerality. This is a wine of finesse and charm from one of the premier producers of Chardonnay in the Margaret River region. It's perfect with turkey or a seafood starter
