Pradio Priara Pinot Grigio 2024

The Cielo family’s estate, located in the prestigious Friuli Grave DOC, is renowned for producing high-quality white and sparkling wines. With vineyards planted with Glera, Pinot Grigio, Friulano, and Sauvignon Blanc, the estate combines centuries of tradition with meticulous vineyard management to produce wines of exceptional freshness, elegance, and aromatic intensity. Friuli Grave’s alluvial soils and ideal climate contribute to the region’s reputation as one of Italy’s finest areas for white wine production. Winemaking Meticulous grape selection is followed by soft pressing, with fermentation using a combination of yeasts and partial malolactic fermentation. The wine rests on noble lees and is aged in stainless steel before a minimum of three months in bottle to develop complexity and freshness. Tasting Note Pradio Estate Pinot Grigio shows a bright, saturated straw-yellow hue and a complex bouquet of wildflowers, ripe apple, and banana. The palate is fresh, well-balanced, and long, with a pleasant lingering finish, reflecting both the purity of the grape and the finesse of the winemaking. Viticulture 100% family estate grown on alluvial soils with 40–60% stone content. Vines are trained using the Guyot method at a density of 4,500 vines per hectare. Yields average 9 tonnes per hectare, with harvest typically occurring in the first half of September. Food Matching Pairs beautifully with fish, poultry, creamy vegetable dishes, and pasta. Wildeberg Coterie Grenache Blanc - Chenin Blanc 2023

A textural wine made from Chenin Blanc sourced from old bush vines in Franschhoek and Grenache Blanc from younger vines in Paarl. The nose is ripe with peach, tropical fruits and hints of jasmine. The palate shows texture and generosity from the old bush vine Chenin, veiled with white spice and exotic notes from the younger, alluring Grenache Blanc, the whole ultimately finishing rich, yet fresh and textural. Wildeberg’s rationale is to source the finest vineyards available to us across Franschhoek and the Coastal Region, from which cuvées the eyes are plucked to make Wildeberg and the Terroir Series releases. In doing so there remains a small yet definitive expression of all the vineyards we worked with, and its these cuvees that are again selected to go into Coterie by Wildeberg. Chenin and Grenache Blanc really complement each other very well. Both varietals love the Coastal Region’s arid soils and Mediterranean climate due to their inherent tolerance to drought. Both components were naturally fermented in 600 litre French oak barrels. 65% 2nd fill and 35% 3rd fill barrels. Food match This is a rich, textural wine whose body and exotic jasmine notes would ably marry with gentle Malay and Thai green fish curries, dishes with lemongrass and coriander, or just simply braai-ed linefish
