PULIGNY MONTRACHET Enseignères Domaine Thomas-Collardot 2023
Once again there is enough wood to merit mentioning framing the aromas of petrol, an abundance of citrus and poached pear scents along with a pretty floral top note. There is good vibrancy and detail to the slightly bigger-bodied flavors that retain solid underlying tension on the bone-dry, youthfully austere and solidly persistent finale. This is an excellent Puligny villages that will need at least a few years of cellaring to unwind.
SAINT AUBIN 1er Cru Clos de la Chatenière Domaine Hubert Lamy 2018
The 2018 Saint-Aubin Clos de Chatenière 1er Cru has exquisite delineation on the nose: wonderful focus and palpable sense of energy and tension. The terroir floods through here. The palate is very well balanced, with razor-sharp acidity, just a mote of reduction. Very good weight with a mineral driven finish that has wonderful sapidity. This is an extremely classy Saint-Aubin. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2018 white tasting.
