Meet the Producer Pyros Wines was founded with the vision of showcasing the singular character of the Pedernal Valley, one of Argentina's most distinctive viticultural areas. The estate is part of the Salentein Family of Wines and is recognised for its commitment to sustainability, precision viticulture and minimal intervention winemaking. Each wine reflects the valley's extreme altitude, pure air and limestone-rich soils, resulting in remarkable structure and longevity. Production Grapes are hand-harvested from Block No. 4 of the Pyros Vineyard. After careful selection, fermentation takes place in small stainless steel tanks with regular pump-overs to extract colour and fine tannins. The wine is then aged for 12 months in French oak barrels (50% new), followed by an additional 6 months of bottle ageing before release. Tasting Notes Deep violet in colour, opening with complex aromas of blackberry, cassis and violet, interwoven with subtle notes of graphite, spice and flint. The palate is concentrated yet

Vergelegen Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2022

Cabernet Sauvignon is the most prolific planting at Vergelegen, with vineyards spanning diverse soils and altitudes. The Reserve bottling highlights the expression of the estate’s deep red Hutton and Oakleaf soils. Winemaking Fermented in small open and closed tanks at controlled temperatures, the must is pumped over every six hours for optimal colour and tannin extraction. The wine is matured for 16 months in French oak barrels (40% new, from Taransaud, Darnajou and Sylvain) before blending and bottling. Tasting Notes A wine of depth and structure, showing blackcurrant, ripe plum and spice layered with plush leather and oak. Concentrated and complex, it offers excellent ageing potential but can also be enjoyed in its youth. Food Pairing Outstanding with roast lamb, venison or mature cheeses.
