Rod Easthope Level 185 Hawkes Bay Sauvignon Blanc 2021
This wine evokes characters of passionfruit and lemongrass which really burst from the glass. There is a deft balance between fruit intensity and cooling acidity on the palate, and the given textural interest via mineral/chalky feel.
Zuccardi Los Olivos Chardonnay 2022
Zuccardi Los Olivos Chardonnay is a beautifully crisp and fresh white wine from the foothills of the Andes Mountains in the Uco Valley, Argentina. Named after the olive trees that have shared the Zuccardi vineyards since the 19th century, this wine showcases the purity and elegance of high-altitude Chardonnay with exceptional freshness and character. Why You'll Love It This is Uco Valley Chardonnay at its finest—crisp, fresh, and beautifully balanced. Olive trees first arrived in Argentina during the 19th century when they were brought by European immigrants, and they have shared the Zuccardi vineyards ever since, becoming as much a part of the family as the vines themselves. The result is a wine that combines the purity of high-altitude fruit with careful winemaking, offering exceptional freshness and approachability. Vineyard & Production Grapes are sourced from vineyards located at the foot of the Andes Mountains in the Uco Valley. The 2022 vintage benefitted from careful vineyard management and optimal harvest timing. Thanks to deep vineyard knowledge, precise parcel monitoring and hands-on observation, the team harvested each block at its optimal point of maturity. Direct pressing is followed by fermentation with selected yeasts at 13-15°C. A portion of the wine is aged in second and third-fill French oak barrels for 6 months to add texture and complexity. Tasting Notes This crisp and fresh Chardonnay opens with aromas of citrus, white fruit and subtle oak. The palate is beautifully balanced, showing bright fruit character with refreshing acidity and a touch of creamy texture from barrel ageing. The finish is clean, fresh and elegant. Perfect Pairings A versatile food wine, perfect with grilled fish, chicken, seafood pasta, fresh salads, or creamy dishes. Also excellent with white fish and light summer cuisine. The Blend 100% Chardonnay from Uco Valley, Argentina
