SAINT AUBIN Princée Domaine Hubert Lamy 2022
Aromas of white-fleshed fruit are laced with citrus and floral nuances. The middle weight flavors possess notably better volume and mid-palate density as well as a lovely texture while retaining good vibrancy on the clean, agreeably dry and sneaky long finale. This offers fine quality for its level and is worth checking out.
VOLNAY Domaine Joseph Drouhin 2021
(in 2021, about 20% of the blend is from the 1ers Frémiets and Clos des Chênes). A deft but still easily perceptible dollop of wood sets off airy and pretty aromas of red currant, dark cherry and plenty of floral elements. There is markedly better refinement to the utterly delicious and silky textured flavors that possess both good richness and a subtle minerality that slowly emerges on the balanced and persistent finale. This is a quality Volnay villages that is worth a look.
