Savigny-Dominode 1er cru, Domaine Chanson 2020
Intense in colour with an inky, almost smoky nose packed full of blueberry and damson fruit, some super-silky, ripe tannins but with a vibrant, juicy finish.
Te Mata Alma Pinot Noir, Hawke's Bay 2022
Tinned red fruits and leafy Pinot aromas, ripe red cherry and plumper darker notes, with low level hints of pepper and spice. Ripe and dense with very good freshness. The palate is medium weight and juicy, a savoury vein lends structure, as does a little wood tannin and sap. Supple, complex and long, got us thinking of Saint-Aubin.
