Savigny-Les-Beaune Les Bas Liards, Pierre Meurgey 2018
Pierre Meurgey, a fourth-generation winemaker, is now bottling remarkable wines under his own name and is just beginning to gain recognition. His father, Henri, was a highly respected courtier and oenologist in the Côte d'Or, admired by all growers. Pierre, known for crafting high-quality wines that are designed to age well, is definitely also a winemaker to watch. His Savigny-Les-Beaune Les Bas Liards has good structure, moderate tannins, and vibrant acidity, making it wonderful to enjoy now but also suitable for aging.
Tenuta Maryamado, Fonteboni 2022
Standard price: £240/case. Enjoy the 10% off until midnight 22nd June, 2026 Est. delivery in September, 2026 Tenuta Maryamado sits in the hills of Tuscany, where this estate has quietly been crafting honest, food-friendly wines that capture the essence of their terroir. Their Fonteboni 2022 has all the character you'd want: bright cherry fruit, earthy herbs, and that distinctive dusty grip that makes you reach for another glass. This is Tuscan winemaking without the fanfare but with all the soul. The 2022 vintage shows beautiful balance between fruit and structure, drinking well now but with enough backbone to develop until 2032. We find it perfectly pitched for weeknight dinners that deserve something special.
