The Wrecking Coast Summer Strawberry Gin

The Wrecking Coast Summer Strawberry Cornish Gin leans fully into the character of peak‑season strawberries, capturing their perfume, juiciness and gentle sweetness without ever tipping into something sugary or artificial. The nose is immediately expressive: ripe red berries, a touch of wild strawberry leaf and a soft coastal freshness that hints at the distillery’s Cornish roots. As it opens, there’s a subtle lift of citrus and a whisper of spice that keeps the aromatics bright rather than jammy. On the palate it’s smooth and rounded, carrying a natural strawberry richness that feels fresh rather than syrupy. The fruit sits at the centre, supported by clean juniper, a little lemon zest and a delicate botanical warmth that adds structure. There’s a pleasing balance between sweetness and dryness, giving it an easy, summery feel while still behaving like a proper gin. The finish is light, crisp and gently lingering, with soft berry notes tapering into a breezy coastal minerality. It leaves a refreshing impression with bright, fruity and clean making it ideal for long drinks, spritzes or simply enjoyed with a quality tonic where the strawberry character can shine.

Trevethan Cornish Gin

Trevethan Gin has been created using Norman Trevethan's family recipe which dates back to 1929. Back in those days, it was usual for all manner of tipples to be hand made in small rural communities. This meant that each batch was unique with its own individual character. The recipe was revived by Norman's grandson, Robert Cuffe in 2015. The gin contains many botanicals sourced from around the world; Juniper, Coriander, Cassia and Angelica along with some less familiar botanicals like cardamom, orange peel, lemon peel and vanilla. Cornish elderflower and Gorse Flower from hedgerows around the family home, Trewonnard Farm in Treneglos, are also foraged and added. Once distilled, the gin is cut with spring water from their farm to 43% ABV. Trevethan is first and foremost a big hit of juniper both on the nose and the palate but underneath the initial juniper burst you get liquorice from the angelica and spicy cinnamon. Citrus notes from the lemon, orange and elderflower round this off followed by a final spicy kick from the cardamom. The mouth feel is smooth and slightly oily thanks to the gorse and vanilla elements. This is a big, bold gin that is steeped in fascinating history - certainly one not to miss!
