Torres Fransola Sauvignon Blanc 2022
Torres Fransola is an elegant, organic Sauvignon Blanc from the celebrated Fransola estate in Penedès, one of the highest and most prestigious vineyard sites in the region. Combining bright fruit, floral aromatics, and subtle herbaceous and mineral notes with a silky texture and balanced acidity, it is a benchmark expression of what Spanish Sauvignon Blanc can achieve. Why You'll Love It Fransola is one of Torres' most acclaimed whites, and it is easy to see why. The combination of cool-climate viticulture at altitude and a sophisticated split-fermentation approach — half in stainless steel for freshness, half in barrel for complexity — produces a wine that is both aromatic and structured. Organic farming adds an extra layer of purity and precision to the fruit. This is a serious white wine at a very fair price. Vineyard & Production The Fransola estate sits at altitude in Penedès, where cold nights and mild days provide ideal conditions for producing concentrated, aromatic Sauvignon Blanc. Half the wine is fermented in stainless steel tanks at 14°C to preserve freshness and varietal character, while the other half is fermented and aged in barrel at 16°C for six months, using 50% new oak from a combination of French and American cooperages. The two halves are then carefully blended, clarified, and bottled to maintain elegance and balance. Tasting Notes Bright pale yellow in colour. The nose shows exquisite aromas of white flowers, citrus, and tropical fruit, complemented by fine herbaceous and mineral undertones. On the palate, it is flavourful and silky with vibrant acidity and a lively, elegant finish. Serve at 10-12°C. Perfect Pairings Ideal with all types of seafood, grilled fish, aromatic poultry, salads, and vegetable dishes. Also excellent alongside goats cheese, asparagus, or a classic prawn linguine. Warwick Estate Chardonnay White Lady 2023
The light green colour shows the fresh and lively attitude of this wine. The bouquet opens with intense French oak aromas, coconut and untoasted almonds and lanolin. The Chardonnay fruit flavours start to dominate with tones of green apple, lime and orange peel. The palate is full, round and shows a complexity of fruit, well balanced with the supporting oak flavours. The minerality keeps the flavours fresh and ensures a long aftertaste. Grapes where harvested from Warwick Estate vineyards at 24,0 B from blocks with a typical density of 3000 vines per hectare. All the wine was aged in French oak for 10 months. 33% of the barrels where new, 33% second fill and the rest third fill barrels. During the time in barrel the lees was stirred weekly for 6 months to increase the fullness of the wine, while the Mallolactic fermentation was only allowed to ferment 40% of the total Mallic acid. After 10 months the wine was given a very light fining and bottled without filtering. Warwick Estate is a family-owned and run winery.
