The history of this company is quite recent. It was founded in 2006, but its wines quickly became known throughout the world and the company is now considered one of the most prestigious in the country. Its production is broad in terms of wine styles but focuses on the use of indigenous grape varieties. The name Badagoni is a reference to the ancient god of winemaking. Saperavi grapes, an ancient indigenous Georgian grape variety, are selected when overripe and harvested in the area of Akhasheni. The result is a semi-sweet wine according to Georgian tradition. Badagoni Akhasheni is a lively and flavorful wine with a clear dark ruby color. On the nose, it reveals a delicate and elegant aromatic profile with exquisite fruity notes of pomegranate, cherry, strawberry, and fresh berries. On the palate, it is soft, round, light-bodied, and smooth with a measured acidity that balances well with the gentle natural sweetness. It is juicy and fruity, with a long lingering finish.
