Prager Weingut is an Austrian winery located in the Wachau region, owning approximately 18 hectares of vineyards in the Weissenkirchen and Dürnstein subzones. Today, the company is managed by Ilse Prager, her husband, Toni Bodenstein, and their son, Robert, and produces Riesling and Grüner Veltliner wines that reflect the unique characteristics and geographical characteristics of the different terroirs. Prager Steinriegl Riesling Federspiel is an elegant white wine, the fruit of what is known as heroic viticulture. Here, the vineyards are located on steep terraces and very poor rocky soil, making vineyard work complicated and strictly manual. The cellar operations are carried out traditionally, but with the use of the most modern technologies, to create wines of extreme finesse and purity. In the glass, the wine reveals a splendid straw-yellow color with bright silvery/greenish highlights. Its aromatic profile is broad and vibrant, with citrus notes intertwined with hints of peach, apricot, and apple, against a background of delicate spices and mineral hints. On the palate, it is distinctive, fruity and lively, dry and balanced. It has a crisp acidity and a pronounced minerality. The finish is long and refreshing with light hints of lime. It is the ideal wine with seafood, oysters, and Asian fish-based recipes.
