Wolfburn Small Batch Release No. 458 is the seventh small batch release from Scotland's northernmost mainland distillery, crafted from a precisely equal marriage of two exceptional cask types. A 50/50 split of 7-year-old spirit matured in first-fill Pedro Ximenez sherry butts and lightly peated spirit matured in first-fill bourbon barrels, it is bottled at natural cask strength of 64% ABV without chill filtration. Just 5,100 bottles were produced, making this a genuinely rare and collectable expression. Distillery & Maturation Wolfburn Distillery was established in 2013 in Thurso, Caithness, on the site of the original Wolfburn Distillery that operated in the 1820s, making it Scotland's northernmost mainland distillery. Small Batch No. 458 is a marriage of two distinct parcels: 7-year-old spirit matured in first-fill Pedro Ximenez sherry butts, and lightly peated spirit matured in first-fill bourbon barrels, combined in equal measure.
