An elegant sparkling wine from the Loire Valley, Langlois Brut Réserve is crafted with the same care and precision as Champagne, offering freshness, finesse, and complexity that reflect the estate’s historic terroirs. Meet the producer Founded in 1885 in Saumur, Langlois-Chateau has earned a reputation as one of the Loire’s leading houses for Crémant de Loire. Benefiting from the Bollinger family’s expertise since their acquisition in 1973, the estate combines traditional savoir-faire with the Loire’s distinctive chalky soils to produce refined sparkling wines. Production The grapes are sourced from six renowned terroirs—Côtes de Saumur, Coteaux de St Léger, Puy Notre Dame, Bas Layon, Haut Layon, and Montreuil Bellay—all dominated by chalk-rich soils that enhance freshness and minerality. Harvesting is done entirely by hand into small 25kg crates to preserve fruit integrity, followed by gentle pneumatic pressing. Each variety and terroir is vinified separately in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The final blend is guided by blind tastings of the clear wines, with the best vintages incorporating around 10% reserve wines for consistency and depth. Secondary fermentation takes place in the bottle, and the wine is matured on lees for a minimum of 24 months in the estate’s historic freestone cellars. Tasting notes Pale gold in colour with fine, persistent bubbles. Aromas of white flowers such as lime blossom and hawthorn lead into a palate that is delicate yet vibrant, marked by crisp acidity and refined freshness. Food match Best served chilled between 8–10°C. Its freshness and elegance make it perfect as an aperitif, at receptions, or paired with refined hors d’oeuvres.
