Admiral Rodney HMS Princessa comes from St. Lucia Distillers, a producer known for its traditional pot‑still rums and long, tropical ageing. The Admiral Rodney range is inspired by the British naval commander who helped secure Caribbean trade routes in the late 18th century, with each bottling named after one of the ships in his fleet. HMS Princessa was originally a Spanish vessel captured and brought into British service, later playing a role in the Battle of the Saints in 1782. The rum reflects that layered history through a blend of well‑aged components. Its aroma shows warm caramel, toasted oak, soft vanilla and a touch of dried fruit. On the palate, it offers a smooth, rounded texture with notes of toffee, gentle spice, raisins and a subtle roasted character. The blend typically includes rums aged between 5 and 9 years, all matured in ex‑bourbon barrels under the intense Caribbean climate.
