A superb bottling from the Bunnahabhain Distillery on Islay, released for Fèis Ìle 2022. Distilled in 1998, this expression matured for two decades before undergoing a final finishing period in Calvados casks. At 23 years of age, it was bottled at 49.7% ABV. It is not often one encounters a remarkable single malt Scotch whisky finished in Calvados casks, so if you are curious about the unique influence of such casks on the spirit, securing a bottle is highly recommended.
