Deanston's limited edition 21-year-old single malt Scotch whisky is crafted using organic malt and initially matured in organic ex-bourbon casks, followed by a finishing period in organic ex-fino sherry casks. This Highland bottling, released annually in a limited batch of 2,784 bottles, boasts a cask strength of 50.9%, is non-chill filtered, and contains no added colouring. It presents itself as an intriguing entry in the growing category of environmentally conscious whiskies, bursting with flavour. The nose reveals creamy malt intertwined with the aromas of pain aux raisins and fresh summer berries. On the palate, it offers notes of cocoa nibs, toasty oak, juicy sherry-soaked vine fruits, and a gentle spice. The finish is reminiscent of spiced fruitcake and waxy orange peel.
