Glenfiddich Project XX is a bold and collaborative single malt Scotch whisky, created by marrying 20 hand-selected casks chosen by whisky experts from around the world. As the second release in Glenfiddich’s Experimental Series, Project XX (pronounced “twenty”) is the result of an ambitious initiative led by Malt Master Brian Kinsman. He invited 20 Glenfiddich brand ambassadors from 16 countries to explore the distillery’s warehouses and each select a cask that spoke to them. These included a diverse mix of port pipes, sherry butts, and first-fill bourbon barrels, which were then carefully married to create a whisky that reflects both Glenfiddich’s heritage and global creativity. On the nose, Project XX opens with classic Glenfiddich fruitiness, featuring apple blossom, ripe pear and summer fruits. The palate delivers a rich blend of vanilla oak, golden sugar and liquorice, with candyfloss sweetness balanced by toasted almonds and cinnamon. A subtle crisp tannin note adds structure, while the texture remains deep and mellow. The finish is smooth and lingering, with a gentle warmth that invites another sip.
