This annual release continues Longrow’s tradition of producing heavily peated whisky with depth, texture and unmistakable coastal influence. The 2026 bottling delivers a powerful yet nuanced profile, shaped by its high strength and distinctive cask marriage. The nose opens with an intriguing mix of redcurrants, Madagascan vanilla and cured meats, alongside peppercorns and an immediate ashy note that signals the whisky’s smoky core. The palate builds in intensity as the peat smoke deepens, bringing flavours of tobacco, cigar smoke, dark fruits and worn leather. The finish is long and assertive, driven by a lively spiciness reminiscent of chilli peppers, supported by cherry menthol and a lingering thread of peat smoke that carries through to the very end.
