This exquisite spirit is a blend of golden rum aged for eight, five, and three years, distilled from pure sugar cane molasses at the renowned Foursquare Distillery on the island of Barbados. The blend undergoes maturation in American bourbon oak barrels, followed by a meticulous cold filtration process and dilution with soft spring water, achieving a bottling strength of 40% ABV. Ideal for enjoying over ice or with your preferred mixer, Neptune Rum draws its name from the Roman god of freshwater and the sea rather than the eighth planet or the 1990s/2000s hip-hop production duo. The ocean's significance resonates deeply with the Neptune team, who are committed to supporting environmental action projects and ocean restoration efforts globally. We regard Neptune Rum as one of the finest rums available for under £40. On the nose, it offers scents of maple syrup, fresh apricot, and vanilla, accented by spicy pepper and nutmeg, and developing into notes of warm bourbon oak and sherried peels. The palate is viscous and refined, featuring ripe peaches alongside touches of shredded coconut and green banana, with underlying hints of vanilla and a faint return of peppercorn. The finish is medium in length and sweet, characterised by caramelised brown sugar.
