SangSom has been a cornerstone of Thai drinking culture since its creation in 1977, rising to national fame during the country’s tourism boom of the 80s and 90s. Often called “Thai Whisky” by locals and travellers alike, it earned international recognition early on with several gold‑medal wins, helping cement its reputation far beyond Thailand’s borders. Its approachable style and easy mixing character made it a staple at beach bars, full‑moon parties and celebrations across the country. Its aroma shows soft vanilla, light caramel, gentle spice and a touch of dried fruit. On the palate, it offers a smooth, rounded texture with notes of toffee, subtle spice, a hint of oak and a light herbal edge that keeps it from feeling overly sweet.
