About this spirit
A release from back in 2016 from Spey. Spey have a long history in connection with Lord Byron who had a love of the Latin language. Spey and Fumare (smoke) is not something you would usually hear together. This is their first peated whisky. We Say: In the glass this is a full golden whisky but light like champagne. On the nose you get aromas of fresh maritime base of salt air and seaweed. On the palate this is sweet with slight salty notes underlying the sweetness with a smoky finish. Could easily be taken for an Islay malt, although lighter in style.
