About this spirit
It started with a question: "Could we make a Rye Whiskey that truly expresses the land that it comes from?" So they focused on 3 key elements of terroir: Grain: rye grown on their farm. Wood: aged in barrels made from their oak. Water: perfected with water straight from their own well. This is a limited edition Rye and is a way for them to continue their experiments with farm based innovation and their Triple Terroir vision. Crop 002 brings notes of light spice to the nose like cinnamon and allspice with some orange fruit. The palate is full of fruity notes with a little leather and tobacco and a touch of spice on the finish. Founded in 2008, WhistlePig is now the most awarded Rye Whiskey maker in the world. They live by a simple ethos: protect what makes Rye Whiskey great, toss out the rest, and then innovate to make it better. Their remote 500 acre hard-working farm in bucolic Shoreham, Vermont, is the perfect place to perfect their experiments with blending and finishing, ultimately leading to a portfolio of deeply complex ultra-aged Rye Whiskeys. In 2017 they were honored to be awarded with the coveted ‘Best In Show Whiskey’ title from the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
