Beyerskloof Diesel Pinotage is a tribute to Beyers Truter’s beloved Great Dane, Diesel, whose image adorns the label. This full-bodied South African red is renowned for its depth, balance, and expressive dark fruit flavours, making it a signature wine from Stellenbosch. Vineyard & Terroir Grapes are sourced from vineyards in Stellenbosch, benefiting from ideal winter rainfall that supports even growth and healthy vine development. Careful vineyard management ensures optimum ripeness, producing concentrated fruit with excellent structure and balance. Winemaking & Ageing Grapes are hand-harvested and destemmed, then sorted to remove any green berries. Fermentation occurs in open casks with regular punch downs to extract maximum flavour and colour. After pressing, the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation in stainless steel tanks. Ageing for 21 months in new French oak barrels adds complexity, with only the finest barrels selected for the Diesel bottling. Tasting Notes A deep, intense red, Diesel Pinotage shows aromas and flavours of dark plums, blackberries, and subtle spice. The palate is rich and structured, with fine tannins and a long, elegant finish. Food Pairing Pairs beautifully with grilled meats, braised beef, lamb dishes, and mature cheeses.
